As part of getting to know you activities this week, 5S and 1C buddies made books all about each other.

Newspaper STEM Task
Last week, 5L students were challenged to plan, design and build a tower out of newspaper in 30 minutes. Their tower could not be supported by other instruments and must not blow over in the wind. The tallest tower still standing at the end of the 30 minutes was the winner.
Our winning team consisted of Nathan, Aerynn, Riley and Annabelle who constructed a tower 88cm tall.
Welcome to Grade Five!
Dear parents,
Here is some information relating to Grade Five in 2020:
- The Grade Five Blog is updated with homework, spelling and is also used to highlight upcoming events and celebrate student achievements
- Homework is uploaded to the Grade Five Blog on Friday and is required to be completed by the following Thursday. The expectation is that students print and complete their homework at home; however, they have the option to do additional work at Homework Club during Wednesday lunch time
- The school diary should be used daily by students to monitor their reading and to write in any important dates. Students are expected to get a parent to sign the diary weekly
- It is important that parents check XUNO on a regular basis to give permission and pay for excursions and extra-curricular activities that are offered
- We request that parents use Xuno and written notes to communicate with teachers or telephone the school directly. We will either respond as soon as we can by Xuno, phone or a written note in your child’s diary
- Students are to wear the sports uniform on Friday for 5/6 Sport. If your child has P.E. they may wear their runners on that day also
- We hope to see you all at our Parent Teacher Interviews
We are looking forward to a fantastic 2020.
Kind regards,
Mrs Sullivan, Miss Horne, Miss Lay and Mr Morton
